  21. The SuperPreview program is a tool for viewing and converting monochrome 
  22. images.  Help is available any time you press the F1 key from anywhere within 
  23. the program.  Because this is context sensitive help, the help information that 
  24. is displayed depends on where in the program F1 was selected. 
  25.  
  26. For instance, you receive help for the File pull-down on the action bar when 
  27. you highlight File and press F1.  However, this is not the same help that is 
  28. displayed when you press F1 while the Open choice in the File pull-down is 
  29. highlighted.

  31. Press Esc at any time to view the previous help window or to return to the main 
  32. SuperPreview window if there are no other help windows.

  56. Use this icon or menu item to open a monochrome image file.  SuperPreview will 
  57. automatically detect the file type such as BMP or TIFF, and open a view of the 
  58. first page.

  63. Use this icon or menu item to save the currently displayed page.  If 
  64. modifications were done to the image such as rotation, the image will be saved 
  65. the way it appears.  Images may be saved in a variety of formats to facilitate 
  66. exchanging files between applications. If a multipage document is open, only 
  67. the current page is saved.  For maximum space savings on disk, it is 
  68. recommended to save all files as TIFF G4.

  73. Use this menu item to convert a directory full of image files from one format 
  74. to another.  Any valid image files in the source directory will be converted 
  75. from any source format to a specified destination format.  Any of the image 
  76. manipulation options of SuperPreview such as rotation can be performed on the 
  77. images during conversion.  An option exists to delete the source image files 
  78. after successful conversion.

  83. Use this menu item to capture a snapshot of an individual window or the entire 
  84. screen.  A dialog box is presented which allows you to choose the source of the 
  85. image and the time delay.  Delays of 5, 10, 15, and 20 seconds are available to 
  86. allow you to prepare the screen the way you like before the snapshot is taken. 
  87. Once the timer goes off, the chosen snapshot will become the current page; If 
  88. an image was opened before the snapshot was taken, it will be discarded.

  93. Use this icon or menu item to print the currently displayed page to a graphics 
  94. printer.  If the image is larger than will fit on the output device, the 
  95. options of tiling or fitting to the page are presented.

  135. Use this icon or menu item to create a new document from the contents of the 
  136. OS/2 Clipboard.  This menu item will only be available when bitmap data is 
  137. present in the clipboard, otherwise it will be grayed out. If the bitmap in the 
  138. clipboard is not monochrome, it will be converted to monochrome by OS/2's 
  139. graphics engine prior to becoming the currently open document.

  144. Use the Crop menu item to crop the current page to the selection rectangle. 
  145. This menu item will only be available when a selection rectangle exists,

  147. monochrome, it will be converted to monochrome by OS/2's graphics engine prior 
  148. to becoming the currently open document.

  213. Use this menu item to scale the current image to fit in the standard fax width 
  214. of 1728 pixels horizontally.  This option is useful for images that were 
  215. scanned at a higher or lower resolution than the standard fax resolution (200 
  216. dpi).  Both the horizontal and vertical directions are scaled proportionately 
  217. so as not to distort the aspect ratio of the original image. Because of the 
  218. technique SuperPreview uses to scale images, very little image degradation 
  219. should be noticeable after performing this function.  The actual page is 
  220. modified not just the view.  If the page is saved, it will be saved the way it 
  221. is displayed.

  227. both the x and y directions.  This option is useful for changing the target

  282. entirely within the width of the viewing window.  This option is useful for 
  283. scanned documents containing text.  Because of the scaling technique used by 
  284. SuperPreview, a typical fax document can be legible when viewed on a VGA 
  285. display with this scale.

  316. Use this menu item to display the preferences dialog box.  From here, you may 
  317. or disable the toolbar (icon bar), status line, or help associated with each of 
  318. these.  Also modifiable from this dialog box is the default view.  This view is 
  319. how an image appears when it is first loaded.  The image contrast may be set 
  320. from here as well.  The contrast represents how dense the drawing of the image 
  321. may become when drawn at a reduced scale.  Since drawing at a reduced scale 
  322. tends to combine many lines on top of each other, this option controls how 
  323. dense the view may become.
